» Tesla Motors will have demo cars at the May 8 DE |

Tesla Motors will bring 2 of their all electric 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds sports cars to our May 8 De for test drives. Unfortunately these will be highway only, and not on track due to insurance. We have all read about Tesla. This is a chance to see and drive one up close and personal. This is an added treat to an already exciting day at the track! See you there.

If you missed the March DE, you missed a great day! The weather was perfect. Everybody played nice. A great time was had by all. One DE regular commented that it was like driving a new track. We dispelled the rumor that the short track was no fun. Thanks again to our great Instructors and all those who willingly pitched in when asked to help. We had some drivers new to our area, and they were made to feel like one of the family. You all proved once again that we have one of the best, and friendliest DE programs in all of PCA.
Now it is time to turn our attention to the May 8 DE. The weather should still be Spring like. We are on the full course. This will be the last time to drive a Suncoast DE until September. Sign up early to get a spot especially if you are in the Beginner or Intermediate groups which historically fill up. Instructors, you can keep Amy from a panic attack by signing up early so we can match instructors to the number of students. As usual, go to www.clubregistration.net to register. Call or email me with any questions. I'll see you at the track.

Registration is filling up fast for the March 27 DE. Green is virtually full and the other groups are right behind, so register fast to get a space. The weather should be great, and the short track offers a perfect opportunity to focus on fewer corners and really get them right. Despite predictions to the contrary, the weather last weekend was great. The weekend was virtually flawless. Thanks to the hard work and assistance by Page Obenshain, Dave Cook, and our ever dependable registrar, Amy Gustafson, among others, and the fact that everyone followed the rules and played nice, yours truly even got in some great track time.
Beginner and Intermediate drivers left with sore jaw muscles from grinning too much after seeing significant advances in their driving skills. That was due not only to their attitude and willingness to learn, but especially to the best instructors in all of PCA. My thanks to all of your for your dedication and contribution to our program.
Thanks to Jeff Holcomb and Reeves Import Motor Cars for their use of the tent at start/finish, and free bottled water for all. Carlos Debonis and Vortex for the great work at Tech. Executive Catering and the Snack Shack for the use of their dining room for meetings.
Put 3/27, 5/8, 9/18 & 19, and 11/13 & 14 on your calendars. They should all be great weather days.
In the meantime, if you have not volunteered for the 48 Hours PCA race weekend in February, you are missing a great weekend and a great time. Come join us.

The weather should be fantastic for our year ending DE 12/12-13. This is a new date for us as we are attempting to get more cool weather dates and avoid the summer heat. This is a test to see if this date works, and if you like 2 day events, so register early, and tell all your friends to join us.
If you haven't tried a DE, this is a perfect time to enjoy some great weather as you learn why Porsches have such a great reputation as a drivers car. Our DE's are much safer than I-4, I-75, or the bumper car path of your choice. Our cars are made to stretch their legs, so let it loose and come join us. You will leave with a grin on your face.
