Well folks, the June DE is now over and it was a great success. This is the first time that we have shared the two day event with the Citrus Region. I can hardly wait for the fall Driver's Ed and I am sure it will be a bit cooler. I never can get over the fact that the Porsche is so tough and actually is a happy car on the track. We are indeed fortunate to have the Sebring International track to host our events. So, hang on Suncoasters, it only gets better.
as always, The Silver tongued grey headed old man.

» The passing of John Anderson |

Here is the notice sent by Ugo Mantovani: " On May 8th, John Anderson died of health complications at the age of 39. As a friend , a co-worker, and a Suncoast DE Instructor, he will be missed. Through the years I have enjoyed writing articles on our events and the fun we all have during each DE. I have worked with John for 9 years. A few years ago John finally decided to purchase a 1985 911 Porshe. He saw that I was having too much fun and decided to join me/us. It was great and a lot of fun to watch him progress from green to blue and yellow and finally become an Instructor. For many of you that got to know John, he was always smiling and ready to help whenever you needed it. Knowing John, we used to joke that I would be waiting with many friends at the pearly gates to take him and others to all the race tracks we could ever imagine and drive any car that we... Sorry that it has taken me so long to post DE news on the website. We are actively getting ready for our first DE of 2009 on May 30 & 31 at Sebring. As of today 4/21, we have about 75 people signed up. If you are a Green (beginner) or Blue (intermediate), don't wait too long as these groups usually fill up fast. Instructors, I know that it is easy to wait to sign up, but it makes Amy very nervous when not enough instructors have signed up. We all know how hard she works, so let's make her happy by signing up early if you plan to attend and instruct.
If you have never participated in a Drivers Education, you are missing a great time, a great opportunity to learn how well your car handles, and how to handle your car in a very safe enviornment. You take more risk every time you get on the interstate, not to mention any other crowded highway. You will have a great time, be amazed with your Porsche, and leave with a big grin on your face.
If you... [Read More]
